The terms of the BankAmericard® credit card have changed, and this article is out of date. See our details page on the BankAmericard® credit card for up-to-date details.
The BankAmericard® credit card is making itself a little less attractive as a balance transfer option.
For a while now, the BankAmericard® credit card has offered the triple crown of balance transfer benefits: an annual fee of $0; an introductory 0% APR for transfers in the first 60 days; and a $0 intro balance transfer fee for the first 60 days your account is open (after that, the fee for future balance transfers is 3% with a $10 minimum). All those zeroes add up to a great way to pay down credit card debt without fees or interest.
As of May 14, 2018, however, that introductory $0 transfer fee is available only to those who apply for the card directly from Bank of America®. Applications through third-party sites, including NerdWallet, will be subject to a balance transfer fee from the start. That fee: 3% of the amount transferred, or $10, whichever is greater.
If you apply for the BankAmericard® credit card through the Bank of America site, you'll also only get 15 billing cycles at 0%. If you're interested in the BankAmericard® credit card as a 0% option for financing a purchase (as opposed to transferring a balance), you can apply through NerdWallet. You'll get the same $0 annual fee but get a longer introductory APR.
